Dinner from three doors away, without another app

Somebody in your building cooks. You already know that, and you probably order from her on WhatsApp. This is the same thing with the guessing taken out — what is on today, what is gone, when to collect, and what it costs.

Find your community

The community page on a phone, listing every seller cooking today with what they make and when orders close, and below them the sellers who are not cooking today.
Everyone cooking in her building today.
A single seller's page: today's dishes with prices, which have sold out, when orders close and where to collect from.
One seller's page for today.
The order ticket: a large pickup code, what was ordered, where and when to collect it, and how much to pay at the door.
Something she would screenshot.

How it goes

  1. Tap the link

From the group, or from her message. Nothing to install and nothing to sign up for. You are looking at today’s food.

  2. Pick what you want

Two portions, or one and a quarter kilos. Weight is an estimate until it is packed, and the page says so rather than pretending otherwise.

  3. Confirm your number, once

A six-digit code the first time you ever order. Never again — not at her, not at anybody else in your community.

  4. Collect and pay

At her door, at the time on your ticket. UPI or cash, straight to her. You get a code big enough to hold up.

Things worth knowing

Two sellers is two orders

Biryani from one and salad from another means two baskets, two collections and two payments — because that is what actually happens. Nothing is added into one total.

Sold out stays on the page

Greyed, with her reason under it in her own words. You can see what she made today even when it has gone.

Your details are yours

Your number and your flat belong to you, not to each seller separately. Correct them once and every seller you buy from has the correction.

Allergies go to whoever cooks

Written on the order and shown at the top of her cooking list. It reaches her — we do not check that it was acted on, and we would rather say so.

Order updates always reach you

Whether or not you want to hear about offers. Those are two separate things and turning one off never touches the other.

Your ticket link is private

It is unguessable and it opens one order. Anyone you forward it to can see that order, so treat it the way you would a photo of your receipt.

Who you are actually buying from

Your neighbour. NeighBuy is only the software she uses to run her business — payment, food and any problem are between you and her, exactly as they are now when you message her.

She sets her prices and keeps every rupee of them. We take no commission and your money never passes through us.

See who is cooking in your community

If your community is not listed yet, the people on your committee can register it — and if you cook, you can apply yourself.
