Questions

The things people actually ask

These are the questions that come up in the room, in roughly the order they come up. If yours is not here, ask it — the answer will end up on this page.

Will my customers actually use another app?

There is no other app. That is the whole answer, and it is why this question has a better answer here than almost anywhere else.

She taps the link in the group and she is looking at today’s food. Nothing to install, no account to make, no password to forget. The first time she ever orders she confirms her number with a six-digit code, and never again — not at you, not at anybody else in your community.

My customers will not download an app.

They do not have to, and they never will. Your neighbour taps the link in your group and she is looking at today’s food — no install, no account, no password.

There is an app, and it is for you. It may never do anything the website cannot, which is a rule we hold ourselves to rather than a promise.

Will I lose the customers who order on WhatsApp?

No. Your number stays your number and they keep messaging it exactly as they do now.

You put those orders in yourself — about thirty seconds each for somebody you already know — and every confirmation you send carries your store link, so the ones who want to order themselves start doing it on their own.

I am not good with computers.

You do not set this up alone. We sit with you and do it — your products, your prices, your customer list — and that is a built part of the product, not a favour.

After that, a repeat order for somebody you know is one tap and a confirm.

What does it cost?

Nothing at the moment. We are onboarding our first sellers and they are not paying.

When there is a price it will be a small monthly fee, and you will hear about it at least thirty days beforehand. We take no cut of your orders, and we never touch your money.

What if I stop using it?

You take everything with you. Orders, customers and products export to a spreadsheet whenever you want, including on the way out.

There is no contract, no notice period and nothing to unwind.

Who can see my customers?

You, and the people you invite. Another seller in the same community cannot see your customers, your notes or your orders — and that is checked automatically against every part of the system, not assumed.

Your neighbour’s name and flat are hers, not ours. She can correct them once and every seller she buys from sees the correction.

How does the money reach me?

Directly. She pays you by UPI or in cash when she collects, exactly as she does today.

It never passes through us, so there is no gateway fee, no settlement and no waiting for a payout. You mark an order paid and it is recorded.

Do I need an FSSAI registration?

Not to use this. You can record your registration if you have one, and it shows on your page, but nothing here depends on it.

Food safety and any licence that applies to you remain yours. We do not inspect or verify sellers, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.

What if two people order the last portion at the same time?

One of them gets it and the other is told immediately, before paying anything.

That is decided by the database at the moment of ordering, not by a check that ran a second earlier. We test it by sending twenty orders at the last five portions: five succeed, every time.

Does it do delivery?

Not yet. Today it is built around your neighbour collecting from your door, which is how these orders already work.

Delivery is designed — a switch, a flat fee, and a neighbour who runs the drops — and it is not built. We would rather tell you that than show you a screen that does not exist.

Cooking for your neighbours already?

Tell us what you sell and where. We will reply within a working day, and we set the whole thing up sitting with you — your products, your prices, your customer list.

Free while we onboard our first sellers. No contract, no cut of your orders.
